Being designed specifically for motorbikes sets it apart from the modified car units that quickly fail when used in an exposed environment. Using Beltronics' patented detection technology, the Bel 966 will give the rider warning of K / Ka / Ku radar frequencies. This covers the main frequencies used throughout the UK and Europe.
The difference between the Bel 966 motorbike radar detector and the Bel 966 radar detector car is that the motorbike version has a weather proof head unit and a warning light. The rider can position the warning light in an easily viewable place whilst keeping it from obscuring the bikes speedo and other displays.
The Beltronics Bel 966 radar detector antenna unit should be mounted inside the fairing. Take care to ensure the antenna will not foul against the forks if the unit is mounted in this position.
